Scott Mitchell at Holland Football University

November 2017- This month Scott Mitchell followed our 30 days individual coaching program. Scott took his first 9-days course in March last year. During this extends stay Scott’s course was more tailor-made on necessary steps he wanted to work on, combined with the level of working in a day to day climate.

”This was my second coaches course at Holland Football University and it was still overwhelming to see all of the different possibilities in training methods. Now I’m an even better coach for myself and for my team.”

We asked Scott a couple questions to answer:

Why did you came back to the Holland Football University?
I had such a good experience with the 9 days course. I really needed to come back and take the next step and improve myself. Everything I applied to my team in the US (after the 9 day course) worked extremely well, my team has exactly the same players but it’s a completely different team now.

How have you experienced the monthly program?
It was such a good experience, I learned so much about different training methods from clubs uses and I had the honor to train some of these methods to the boys and girls of the FootballEquals Academy. I really had a nice time with all the players, coaches, Jurgen and Mary.

What is the difference between the 9 days- individual trainings coaching program and the monthly?
This month was building upon what I learned the first 9 days and I was running around to look at a lot of different professional clubs to see new training methods the academy’s uses. This all to achieve to the same goal.

Could you mention the clubs you were visiting?
We went to PSV, that was amazing and overwhelmed what kind of accommodation, facilities and methods they have. I also visited Vitesse, FC Twente, Den Ham and Sparta. They are all different clubs with different training methods. I had a great experience at all of them.

What do you think about the FootballEquals academy? (tell us something about it)
I like the idea of it. There is no difference between boys and girls and it’s just naturally for them and that’s a good thing. I know the level of the players in Holland, but I was overwhelmed when I saw the level of the kids at the FootballEquals Academy. It is a great thing that should be supported by everyone!

I would like to say thank you for having me on board and showing me the way of the Dutch. This was my second coaches course at Holland Football University and it was still overwhelming to see all of the different possibilities in training methods. Now I’m an even better coach for myself and for my team.

Holland Football University thanks coach Scott Mitchell for his confidence in choosing Holland Football University for supporting his ambition.
