The first women’s team of UMF Stjarnan traveled last week to the Netherlands for a training camp. Holland Football University put together a tailor-made program for this Icelandic team.

The club was last year with both men and women  the champion in the strongest league in Iceland. The club is best known for the creative way of cheering after scoring a goal. Think of “The Grenade”, “The Toilet” and “The Fish”. The goal celebrations go around the world with millions of views on YouTube.

The team spent six days in which the women have trained and played two exhibition games. The opponents were Dutch clubs that have played in the UEFA Women’s Champions League. Friday March 27 the team played on the FC Twente Training Center against FC Twente Women and on Monday, in the Kyocera Stadium against the women of ADO Den Haag.

FC Twente University offers customized football programs for international football teams, players and coaches. Thanks to a wide network in the region, and beyond, unique programs can be compiled. In October, four youth teams from Norway were hosted in Enschede. They played friendly matches against Vitesse and were excited about the program and the associated guidance.

In addition to customized football programs for teams and coaches Holland Football University also offers programs and camps for ambitious international players.
